Iron Boar bring riffs to Underground Bradford

Recently formed Bradford based Booking collective Iron Boar Bookings are injecting new energy into the Bradford doom rock scene.

Iron Boar Bookings team have already brought bands from Norway, Sweden, USA and London to the city and offered local bands an opportunity to support these international touring artists. With the support of The Underground and Al’s Juke Bar these nights are proving to be a huge success, with some people visiting Bradford for the first ever time to rock out to heavy riffy doomy music. Collaborations with companies such as Northern Monk Brewery just make these events even more appealing to the sludge-metal, beer swilling crowd, who are eager for more of this music in Bradford City Centre.

The next event is on the 29th of June: Elephant Tree with support from Barbarian Hermit, Sound of Origin and Son of Boar. Elephant Tree hail from the smoky depths of London, UK. Drawn from all corners of the British Isles, the quenchless quartet have been playing shows together for 5 years, spanning across Europe and even over the seas to Las Vegas. Set to soon release the follow-up to their Self Titled album, 2019 is promising to be a busy year for them.

With beer from Northern Monk Brewery, DJ set from Bloodstock Festivals’ very own Chunk and a bar till 4.00am this is set to be a fantastic night for the Bradford music scene.

My A&R musings aside, it’s safe to say Elephant Tree‘s sophomore outing is high on my list of most anticipated records for 2019. From the couple songs I was fortunate enough to see live in October at Høstsabbat (review here), only more so. – JJ – The Obelisk

Elephant Tree are masters of combining gloomy atmosphere with head-bobbing grooves… It’s truly a mind-numbing and nirvana-like experience to hear this talented band do their thing.” – Metal Injection

Their prismatic approach to songwriting seamlessly combines elements of grunge, blues, and psych with Sabbathian archetypes, achieving an expansive, novel sound that distinguishes them from the pack.” – Doomed and Stoned

“Elephant Tree have taken the base elements of stoner rock and mixed it with their own take on psych to create an album that simply gets better with every listen. It’s little nuances jump out and surprise you whilst its underbelly is laced with tremendous heaviness.” – Echoes and Dust
